# See how your club reads in AI apps

> Read your profile as AI apps see it and compare it with clubs in your state

You run or market a club. AI apps that connect Private Clubs read your listing from the public directory at theprivateclubs.com. Ask the questions they can answer, and you see what they see: your profile, the clubs listed in your state and how you compare with clubs nearby.

## What you can ask

* "How does our club's profile read on Private Clubs?" uses `get_club`.
* "Which yacht clubs are listed in our state?" uses `get_clubs_by_state`.
* "Compare our club with two clubs nearby" uses `compare_clubs`.

## Run it in your AI app

<Card title="Connect Private Clubs to your AI app" icon="plug" href="/mcp/connect" horizontal>
  Install the Private Clubs MCP server in your AI app. Free, no account or API key needed.
</Card>

Adapt this starting prompt:

```text theme={"system"}
Use the Private Clubs MCP. Find [club name] in [state] and show me its
full profile as Private Clubs returns it, and list any empty fields. Then
list the [yacht] clubs listed in [state]. Then compare [club name] with
[nearby club] and [second nearby club]. Include each club's profile link,
and say that fees are on the club's profile at theprivateclubs.com.
```

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Read your profile">
    `get_club` fits this ask. It takes your club's slug. If you do not know it, `search_clubs` with `query` set to your club's name returns it. The slug is also the last part of your profile URL.

    ```json theme={"system"}
    {"slug": "desert-forest-golf-club"}
    ```

    Trimmed result from October 2026, with `id`, `country`, `description`, `amenities`, `website`, `phone` and `hero_image_url` left out:

    ```json theme={"system"}
    {
      "name": "Desert Forest Golf Club",
      "slug": "desert-forest-golf-club",
      "city": "Carefree",
      "state": "Arizona",
      "type": "golf",
      "waitlist_status": "by_invitation",
      "holes": 18,
      "par": 72,
      "yardage": 7201,
      "course_architect": "Red Lawrence, ASGCA",
      "founded_year": 1962,
      "total_members": null,
      "url": "https://www.theprivateclubs.com/clubs/arizona/desert-forest-golf-club",
      "membership_fees": "Membership fees are available to account holders at theprivateclubs.com. Members see exact verified fees."
    }
    ```

    A `null` field means Private Clubs does not know the value. `membership_fees` is always this message, never a figure.
  </Step>

  <Step title="List the clubs in your state">
    `get_clubs_by_state` fits this ask. Send your state and, if you like, a type:

    ```json theme={"system"}
    {"state": "Florida", "type": "yacht"}
    ```

    It covers US states and Canadian provinces and returns up to 100 clubs, best known first, each with a profile `url`. `type` is an exact match on the stored type, so see [club types](/reference/club-types) for the names. For a longer list, use the [API](/api) with paging.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Compare with clubs nearby">
    `compare_clubs` takes two or three slugs. Private Clubs does not measure distance, so choose the nearby clubs yourself, for example from step 2 or from a `search_clubs` search by city.

    ```json theme={"system"}
    {"slugs": ["desert-forest-golf-club", "desert-highlands-golf-club-az-ut21", "the-estancia-club"]}
    ```

    You get each club's location, profile link, waitlist status, course fields, founded year, amenities and website. The order of the clubs is not fixed.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What each system did

* Private Clubs returned your listing, the clubs listed in your state and a profile link for each one.
* Your AI app chose the tool for each question and wrote the answer.

## Before you share

* Fees are not included. Point people to your club's profile, where account holders see fees.
* Waitlist status and other fields can change. Check the profile before you quote it.
* Cite Private Clubs (theprivateclubs.com) and link the club's profile. See the [data license](https://www.theprivateclubs.com/data/license) for commercial use.
* You can claim your club's listing free at [theprivateclubs.com/list](https://www.theprivateclubs.com/list), with a work email and no credit card.
