# Answer club questions for buyers

> Name the clubs in a town, check membership status and compare golf courses for a buyer

You are a real estate agent, and buyers ask about the clubs near a listing. Ask your AI app which clubs are in the town, what a club's membership status is and how two golf courses compare. Private Clubs answers from the public directory at theprivateclubs.com, with a profile link you can send to your buyer.

## What you can ask

* "Which private clubs are in Naples, Florida?" uses `search_clubs`.
* "What is the membership status at this club?" uses `get_membership_info`.
* "Compare the golf courses at these two clubs" uses `compare_clubs`.

## Run it in your AI app

<Card title="Connect Private Clubs to your AI app" icon="plug" href="/mcp/connect" horizontal>
  Install the Private Clubs MCP server in your AI app. Free, no account or API key needed.
</Card>

Adapt this starting prompt:

```text theme={"system"}
Use the Private Clubs MCP. List the private clubs in [Naples], [Florida].
Then check the membership status at [club name]. Then compare the golf
courses at [first club] and [second club]: holes, par, yardage, course
architect and founded year. Include each club's profile link, and say that
fees are on the club's profile at theprivateclubs.com.
```

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find the clubs in a town">
    `search_clubs` fits this ask. Put the town in `query` and add the state:

    ```json theme={"system"}
    {"query": "Naples", "state": "Florida"}
    ```

    `query` matches part of a club's name, type or city, so a club in another town can appear when its name holds the town's name. Check the `city` field. The tool returns up to 25 clubs, best known first. Naples reaches that limit, so treat the list as partial and narrow it with `type`. `type` is an exact match, so `golf` leaves out clubs stored as `country_club`. Search each type you need.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check membership status">
    `get_membership_info` takes one slug from the search:

    ```json theme={"system"}
    {"slug": "colliers-reserve"}
    ```

    Result from October 2026:

    ```json theme={"system"}
    {
      "name": "Collier's Reserve Country Club",
      "slug": "colliers-reserve",
      "type": "country_club",
      "waitlist_status": "waitlist",
      "url": "https://www.theprivateclubs.com/clubs/florida/colliers-reserve",
      "membership_fees": "Membership fees are available to account holders at theprivateclubs.com. Members see exact verified fees. See https://www.theprivateclubs.com/clubs/florida/colliers-reserve"
    }
    ```

    `waitlist` means the club is listed with a waitlist. See [waitlist values](/reference/conventions#waitlist-values) for the others.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Compare the golf courses">
    `compare_clubs` takes two or three slugs:

    ```json theme={"system"}
    {"slugs": ["bay-colony", "colliers-reserve"]}
    ```

    You get holes, par, yardage, course architect and founded year side by side, with each club's location, waitlist status, amenities, website and profile link. A field Private Clubs does not know comes back `null`.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What each system did

* Private Clubs returned the listed clubs, their membership status, their course details and a profile link for each one.
* Your AI app chose the tool for each question and wrote the answer.

## Before you share

* Fees are not included. Send your buyer the club's profile, where account holders see fees.
* Membership status can change. Check the club's profile before you pass it on.
* Cite Private Clubs (theprivateclubs.com) and link the club's profile. See the [data license](https://www.theprivateclubs.com/data/license) for commercial use.
* Under the data license, non-commercial use is free with attribution. Commercial use, bulk data access and API integrations beyond the public endpoints need a commercial license, and the license page gives the contact.
